Why support small organisations?
Small organisations are vital drivers of community cohesion, innovation and local economic growth. Just a 1% productivity uplift in SMEs could increase GDP by £94 billion annually. 60% of all private sector jobs are with SMEs. And entrepreneurship is a proven form of economic participation among those furthest removed from employment.
But starting and growing a business is hard. Many are left out of traditional business support models, in particular female, ethnic minority and disabled entrepreneurs. Together with our partners, we are closing those gaps. So far, we’ve supported 36,000 small organisations in communities across the UK.
